DUCKETT FISHING ANNOUNCES HIRING OF ROD DESIGNER AL JACKSON

DEMOPOLIS, Ala. - Duckett Fishing announced today that Al Jackson, one of the fishing industry’s top rod and rod component designers, has joined the company as its designer and manufacturing manager.

Jackson, who is credited with creating the micro-guide technology Duckett Fishing utilizes in its ground-breaking MICROMagic rods, comes to Duckett Fishing from E21, where he held a similar title.

“Al brings 35 years of experience as an innovation leader within our industry. He is well-known and respected in our business, and we’re delighted to welcome him to Duckett Fishing,” company owner and CEO Boyd Duckett said.

“We’ve developed a reputation as an innovative company, so we’re always interested in products that are ahead of the curve for our industry," Duckett said. "Al will be a perfect fit. He’s all about new ideas, but he’s also a hands-on manager that wants to make sure that manufacturing is done right.”

Jackson, who has a four-decade history in the fishing industry, has performed design and development work for J. Kennedy Fisher, Lew Childre, Newell, Contender, Berkley, G. Loomis, Lamiglas and Kistler. In addition to his work in the fishing industry, Jackson has also developed golf components used by Titliest, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, Cleveland and Taylormade.

At Duckett Fishing, Jackson will continue to design rods and parts. He will also oversee Duckett Fishing’s manufacturing operations.

Duckett Fishing began production in late 2009. Their debut rod, MICROMagic, was a white rod that solely used microguide technology on their full line of fishing rods. Duckett Fishing rods have gained a strong, positive reputation among anglers because of their light weight, balance and unmatched sensitivity.

Duckett Fishing rods are endorsed by a professional angler staff that includes top B.A.S.S. Elite Series competitors Kelly Jordon, Terry Scroggins, Tim Horton, Byron Velvick, Jason Quinn, Jason Williamson, Pete Ponds and Duckett.
